Joyner Crowned Patriot League Player of the Year; Three Black Knights Earn Postseason Honors

WEST POINT, N.Y. – For the third time in her career, Army West Point women's tennis senior Ana Joyner has been named Patriot League Player of the Year in an announcement made by the league office on Tuesday morning. The Black Knights took home two of the four total superlative awards, as the duo of Stephanie Dolehide and Caroline Vincent was additionally named Doubles Team of the Year.

Both Joyner and Dolehide landed spots on the All-Conference First Team to go along with their previously-mentioned honors, while Vincent earned a Second Team All-Conference selection. The three total all-conference accolades tie with Boston University for the most of any other team in the Patriot League.

Joyner becomes the second three-time Player of the Year in program history, joining Annie Houghton (2008-09, '11). In her final campaign, she posted a 9-1 mark at the top singles spot, racked up an unblemished record in league play (6-0) and helped Army take down Navy, 5-2, for a star in the Army-Navy Star Series. With her efforts, she climbed up the program's career record list for dual wins at No. 1 singles and now ranks third all-time with 33. She is Army's sixth three-time All-Patriot League selection and just the third player in league history to be named Player of the Year at least three times. She finishes her career with a 58-38 singles record and a 55-34 doubles mark.

Dolehide and Vincent are the third Army pair to capture Doubles Team of the Year since the award's introduction in 2015. The pair posted a dominant 9-2 mark in doubles, which included a 7-0 record in league play. They held Patriot League opponents to just two points or less on three separate occasions and played a key role in the team's defeat of Navy.

The postseason honors are the first of Dolehide's career. The recipient of Army West Point's 2021 Coach K Award amassed a 6-4 record in singles this season and clinched the team's win over Navy with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 2 singles.

A returning Patriot League academic honor roll selection from the 2019 season, Vincent turned in an 8-2 mark in singles play. Primarily playing at the second and third flights, she also contributed to the defeat of Navy with a three-set win.

Despite playing a shortened schedule in 2020-21, the Black Knights finished over .700 for the sixth-consecutive season after completing the year at 12-4 (.750). The team was undefeated at home and went 6-1 in conference play.
