Volleyball Set for First Round NCAA Tournament Match with Notre Dame

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point volleyball team will take on Notre Dame in the first round of the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship at noon on Wednesday, April 14, in Omaha, Neb.. The winner will advance to play No. 10 Oregon in the second round on Thursday, April 15.

- This is Army's second ever trip to the NCAA tournament. The only other season it advanced to the tournament was in 2009 under then third-year head coach Alma Kovaci Lee. The Cadets fell to Penn in University Park, Pa., 3-1 on Dec. 4, 2009.
- The Black Knights knocked off top-seeded Colgate, 3-1, in the Patriot League championship on April 3. In the semifinal round the night before, Army bested second-seeded Holy Cross in a five-set thriller.
- Army enters the matchup riding a five-game winning streak after starting the season 1-2.
- The matchup marks the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
- Army placed four members on the All-Patriot League teams. Senior setter Hannah Presley was the team's sole all-league first team selection, while senior middle blocker Monica Eckford, freshmen middle blocker Paige Fixemer and senior libero Ana Oglivie were named to the second team.
