Army Battles to 4-1 Win over Stony Brook

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army West Point women's tennis team picked up their fourth win of the season against Stony Brook University on Friday afternoon. The Black Knights grabbed an early doubles point that helped them gain the advantage over the Seawolves and claim a 4-1 victory before being cut short by a power outage.
Stephanie Dolehide and Caroline Vincent dropped a tough loss in the No. 1 slot to open up doubles play but a team effort in the following two matchups helped the Black Knights to regain momentum. Ana Joyner and Sam DiMaio overpowered Pam/Cardoso of Stony Brook in a 6-2 contest allowing the duo of Sasha Inchauste and Elizabeth Gilbert to bring home the victory, 6-3.
Joyner secured Army's first singles win as well, beating Jamie Wei in the No. 1 singles slot 6-3, 6-1. Dolehide answered in similar fashion in the No. 2, taking a 6-3, 6-2 win from Sasha Bekirova. Freshman Carolyn Ahn clinched the victory for Army in teh No. 4, moving past Nolwenn Carodso 6-0, 6-2. Ahn's win gave Army the go-ahead point before the match was cut short due to power outage issues, leaving Vincent, Molly Heber and MaryJo Pidgeon's singles matches unfinished.
