Volleyball Ranked Third, Eckford Selected to Preseason All-League Team

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point volleyball team was ranked third in the Patriot League Preseason Poll, it was announced in Monday morning. Additionally, Monica Eckford was named to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team.

Army finished with 107 points in the poll, which was seven fewer than second-ranked Colgate and 25 more than fourth-ranked Navy. The Black Knights received three first place votes in the poll that was voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.

Last season the Black Knights posted an overall record of 22-10 and were 11-5 in league play. The Cadets advanced to the Patriot League championship game for the first time since 2015.

Eckford, a 2019 First Team All-Patriot League selection, led the Black Knights in hitting percentage last season with a mark of .282 and was second on the team in total blocks with 108.
