Presley and Bray Earn Weekly Patriot League Awards

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point volleyball team swept the Patriot League weekly awards following the opening weekend of play. Senior Hannah Presley was tabbed the player of the week, while freshman Savannah Bray was the league's rookie of the week.

A setter from Tracy, Calf., Presley had seven kills in both matches against Colgate, which is one shy of her career high. She had a combined 60 assists over the weekend with 38 on Friday and 22 in Sunday's three-set triumph over the Raiders.

Bray had a match-high 13 kills in Friday's contest in Hamilton, N.Y., and followed it with seven on Sunday. The Woodstock, Ga., native posted a kill percentage of .153 and her 2.5 kills per set was the second best average on the team.

Army split its opening series with Colgate in a rematch of the 2019 Patriot League semifinal, which Army won 3-1. The Black Knights three-set win was its first 3-0 victory over Colgate since 2017.

The Cadets return to action this weekend with a pair of matches against archrival Navy. First on Friday, the two service academies will play in the star match, as part of the Star Series presented by USAA, down in Annapolis, Md., at 5 p.m. ET. Then on Sunday the two will square off in West Point at 5 p.m.
