February 14, 2021 | Women's Basketball
BOSTON – The Army West Point women's basketball team fell on the road to Boston University, 65-53, Sunday afternoon at Case Gym.
Â
"I'm very proud of the way we competed," Army head coach Dave Magarity said. "I mean BU is a terrific team. I'm not sure who the best team is between them and Bucknell in the league right now."
Â
The Black Knights trailed for most of the contest, but hung around with the Terriers squad which is now 8-1 on the season. Army cut BU's advantage to 52-47 by the 6:28 mark of the fourth quarter, but the Terriers used a late 13-3 run to push ahead by 15 with just under two minutes remaining to secure the win.
Â
Army was led by Alisa Fallon, who finished 17 points on 6-13 shooting. Also finishing in double figures for the Cadets was Kate Murray, who finished with 10. The Terriers had four members score in double-digits led by Maren Durant's 13 points.
Â
Fallon played a part in five of the seven made field goals in the opening quarter, knocking down two shots and assisting on three. Army shot 7-16 in the first quarter and was 3-6 from beyond-the-arc. However, BU shot at 62.5 percent clip in the first to help the Terriers hold a 21-17 lead.
