BOSTON – Georgia Jones paced Army at the 2021 NCAA Northeast Regionals on Friday to once again lead the Black Knights.

Jones, who was named the 2021 Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year, has led the Black Knights in every race she competed in. Jones finished with a time of 21:42 to place 42^nd. As a team, the Black Knights earned a 19^th place finish with an average time of 20:40.

COACH'S CORNER
"I thought we competed well today. The majority of our women were out in the middle of the race early and attacked well over the last half of the race. Our spread for that group was pretty close and we have been working on that all year long. We had hoped to place higher as a team but needed to be a little further up in the field in order to make that happen. Georgia Jones was our top runner again and did a nice job of inserting herself into the front of the race and fought pretty well through the halfway point but when the race started to open up she was unable to stay with the leaders as they continued to press forward. For the majority of our team, this was their first regional experience and they handled themselves fairly well. As long as they learn from this they will have a chance to improve as we go forward." – Mike Smith
