October 25, 2021 | Sprint Football
WEST POINT, N.Y. - Seven catches, 155 yards and three touchdowns later, Donovan Mannion was named the CSFL's Offensive Player of the Week. Mannion connected with quarterback JC Watson for the first two scores of the game that came from 23 and 32 yards out to boost Army to a 42-0 defeat of St. Thomas Aquinas last Friday.
Mannion, now the league leader in touchdown grabs with eight, had his second three-touchdown game of the season. His first came against Alderson Broaddus in week 2. The Boston, Mass. native has scored a touchdown in four of the team's five games this season and his 155 yards were good for most by a player in a game since 2019 vs. Caldwell (Tom Williamson, 181).
After his performance, Mannion now has 23 catches for 386 yards and eight scores, all of which lead the team,
James Bieler was also recognized as an honorable mention for Defensive Player of the Week after his two-sack, three-tackle effort on the defensive line. The Army front seven overpowered the STAC rushing attack as they allowed only 29 yards on the ground in the contest.
