2022 West Point Open COVID Protocols
October 15, 2021 | Men's Gymnastics
Thank you for your support of the 30th anniversary of the West Point Gymnastics Open. Our goal is to provide an excellent, fun, and safe competition for all attending. With that in mind, we will be adhering to the following guidance as it relates to COVID:
After close consultation between West Point and Army Public Health, Army West Point Athletics requires all participants, coaches, event personnel, judges, and spectators 12 years of age and older attending an indoor sporting event to be fully vaccinated. Those under the age of 12 are exempt from providing proof of vaccination. These athletes (competing at the Lou Gross Sports Center on Sunday, January 16th), will be required to show a negative COVID test within 72 hours prior to arrival (PCR or Antigen) or show proof of vaccination upon check-in. They will also be required to wear a mask while not on a event warming up or competing.
Spectators will be asked to show proof of vaccination upon entry into the venue. Additionally, unless actively eating or drinking, all spectators are required to wear a mask indoors regardless of vaccination status.
All gymnastics teams are required to include proof of vaccination for their athletes (12 and up) and coaches when they send in their payment by November 15th. Full vaccination needs to be completed by athletes and coaches by January 12th. They will also be required to wear a mask while not on a event warming up or competing. If an athlete or coach gets fully vaccinated after the November 15th payment deadline, please send proof of vaccination to Evan Eigner at evan.eigner@westpoint.edu.
If you have an athlete that turns 12 years old after October 31st, they do not need to be fully vaccinated, but a negative PCR test within 72 hours of the competition is required. It must be PCR test and cannot be an antigen test.
Thank you for your support of the 30th anniversary of the West Point Gymnastics Open. The success of the competition falls on all of us to do our part. One team one fight! We will be ready for your arrival and keep you updated if anything changes.
