WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point rifle team topped NC State, 4668-4656, in a virtual Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) match Sunday at the Tronsrue Marksmanship Center.

Freshman Kyle Kutz had the highest aggregate score of the day with a tally of 1173. His mark of 583 in smallbore was the top total of the day, while classmate Anusha Pakkam was right behind him with a score of 582.

"The team had a good vibe heading into the match today," Kutz said. "I started out a little rough but was able to pick it back up in the end and finish strong. I'm looking forward to our match against Akron next weekend."

AGGREGATE: ARMY 4668, NC State 4656

Kyle Kutz had the top score of the day with 1173.
Pakkam had the second highest tally with 1171.

SMALLBORE: ARMY 2323, NC State 2297

Army had the top three scores in smallbore with three members reaching the 580-mark.
Kyle Kutz (583) and Anusha Pakkam (582) earned the top two spots, while senior captain Clayton Hanson posted the third best mark with a score of 580.
NC State's Makenzie Sheffield also posted a 580.
Kaitlyn Kutz rounded out the scoring for the Cadets with a score of 578.

AIR RIFLE: NC State 2359, ARMY 2345

NC State had a 1-2-3 sweep in air rifle with Travis Stockton leading the pack with a score of 595.
Kyle Kutz had Army's highest score of the day with a 590.
Pakkam was the next highest tally at 589.
Lauren McMahan and Hanson rounded out the scoring for the Cadets with marks of 583.
