PALMYRA, Pa. -- The Army West Point Rifle team topped Akron, 4682-4663, Saturday afternoon.

Army had four members reach the 590-mark in air rifle and two shooters hit the 580-mark in smallbore.

Sophomore Emily Gay posted a career-high score of 593 in air rifle, which was tied with Anusha Pakkam and Clayton Hanson for the second-best score of the match.

"We did really well for our first match back," Gay said. "It's great to travel again and I'm excited to beat Navy in a couple of weeks. Air rifle went well for me today, so I'm excited to keep the momentum going for our next match."

AGGREGATE: ARMY 4668, AKRON 4663

Army had the top three individual aggregate scores.
Pakkam had the highest mark with 1173.
Lauren McMahan had the second highest tally with a mark of 1172.
Hanson's 1171 was the third highest tally of the match.

SMALLBORE: ARMY 2318, AKRON 2310

McMahan posted the highest score of the match with a mark of 582.
Right behind her was Pakkam, who recorded a score of 580.
Hanson and Kyle Kutz rounded out the scoring for the Cadets with scores of 578.

AIR RIFLE: ARMY 2364, AKRON 2353

Akron's Andre Gross led pack with a mark of 595.
The Black Knights held the next four highest scores. Pakkam, Hanson and Gay each shot 593 in air.
McMahan posted a score of 590 to close out the scoring for the Cadets.
