Men's Basketball Celebrates Season at Team Banquet

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's basketball team celebrated its 2019-20 campaign at the annual end-of-the-year banquet on Thursday night.
This year's banquet was done virtually as all members of the team were joined by the coaches, support staff, officer representatives and others through a video call.
The team award winners were announced during the celebration.
Stilwell Award
The Stilwell Award is given to the cadet-athlete that displayed outstanding leadership and character. The award is presented in honor of General Joseph Stilwell, a member of the West Point Class of 1904. Stilwell is known for introducing basketball to the Academy as a cadet and served as the head coach of West Point's first team.
2019-20 Recipient: Matt Wilson
Roosma Award
The Roosma Award is awarded to the team's most valuable player. The award is named after Colonel John S. Roosma, a Class of 1926 USMA graduate. Roosma was captain of the 1926 men's basketball team and was Army's first 1,000-point scorer.
