Golf Sits Fifth Through Two Rounds in South Carolina

AIKEN, S.C. – The Army West Point golf team played 36 holes on Monday at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Invitational and currently sits fifth at 14-over as a team.

The Black Knights had an opening round score of 7-over for fourth on the team leaderboard, but dropped to fifth after another 7-over second round as a team. Clemson is at the top of the leaderboard at 17-under for the tournament.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
- Justin Williamson sits in a tie for ninth on the individual leaderboard at 1-over for the tournament and Tom Katsenes is in the 16th spot at 2-over through two rounds.
- The Black Knights had three players finish even par after round one with 70s on their scorecards.
- Williamson carded a 3-under on the back nine to move up the leaderboard and secure a score of 70.Â
- James McKee and Katsenes finished with even par 70 as well. McKee had 16 pars in his round, while Katsenes righted the ship with four birdies and 10 pars.
- Dragon Theam earned Army's only under-par round of the day as he shot a 1-under par 69 in round two and he is tied for 26th on the leaderboard.
- Williamson followed up his opening round 70 with a 71 to finish the 36-hole day at 1-over par.
- Katsenes remained close to the leaders with a 3-over par 73 in round two and he rebounded after a tough start with three birdies in his final nine hole.
- Clemson teammates Jacob Bridgeman and Turk Pettit are tied for the individual lead at 7-under par through two rounds.
