WEST POINT, N.Y. – Despite a pair of 24-point efforts from seniors Matt Wilson and Tommy Funk, the Army West Point men's basketball team fell to Boston University, 80-66, on Wednesday night at Christl Arena.
The highlight of the night came with 8:38 left in the game when Funk made history by becoming the all-time leader in the Patriot League in career assists following his fifth helper of the contest. The senior point guard capped his night with 24 points to go along with four rebounds and six assists. The six helpers put him at 662 for his career.
Wilson also shined for the Black Knights (11-11, 6-5 Patriot League) against the Terriers (14-10, 8-3 Patriot League) and was up for the challenge against one of the top defenses in the league. The Alexandria, Ky., native poured in 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting to pair with 10 boards for a double-double.

- Army scored 50 of its 66 points from inside the paint (76%).
- Ninety-five percent of the Black Knights' scoring came from its starters.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Army jumped out to an early 11-5 lead over the first seven minutes of action, but the Terriers responded by outscoring the Black Knights, 20-6, over an eight-minute stretch to go ahead by eight. During that period, Army struggled to knock down shots, going 2-of-12 from the field, while the Terriers went 50 percent from the floor with eight makes.
- Boston U. carried an 11-point advantage into the second half, 34-23, and continued to add to its lead. Over a three-minute span, the Terriers went 5-of-5 from the field as part of a 13-6 run to push the lead to 16, 47-31, with 16:08 on the clock.
- A Funk 3-pointer less than a minute later sparked a 9-2 Black Knights' run that brought Army back within single digits, 49-40. The senior point guard was responsible for seven of his team's nine points on that spurt.
- Boston U. countered with a 9-3 run that featured a trio of treys to bring the advantage back to double figures, where it stayed for the remainder of play as the Terriers came away with the win.
