Women’s Tennis Wins Seventh-Straight in 5-2 victory over UMass

AMHERST, Mass. - Army women's tennis won its seventh consecutive match on Saturday and improved to 8-2 with a 5-2 victory over UMass.
Army claimed the doubles point and swept all three matches. In the No. 1 matchup, Stephanie Dolehide and Caorline Vincent picked up a 6-4 win over Anna Napadiy and Martine Bocchi. In the No. 2 bout, Ana Joyner and Sam Dimaio squeaked out a 6-5 win over Ashley Avery and Sarah Menzi, while Paola You and Sophie McKenize cruised with a 6-0 win at No. 3.
In singles action, Dolehide earned a straight-set victory over Martina Bocchi by a count of 6-1, 7-5 in the no. 2 matchup. Vincent competed in the No. 3 slot, lost the first set but went on to take the next two to defeat Avery. Bou was successful at No. 4, picking up a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Jovana Bogjcevic. Elizabeth Gilbert rounded out the winners with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Sarah Mezini.
Army is back in action at 9 a.m. next Saturday vs. St. Bonaventure at West Point.
