Army Falls to Nebraska and Minnesota in Tri-Meet

LINCOLN, Neb. - The Army West Point gymnastics team was defeated by Nebraska and Minnesota in a tri-meet at the University of Nebraska on Saturday.Â
The Black Knights finished with a team score of 389.150, placing third behind Nebraska (409.150) and Minnesota (404.700).Â
Freshman Jacob Nauman continued his strong start to his career on vault, posting his fourth 14+ score this season on the apparatus with a 14.350. The score was the fourth highest overall of the day and the best of his career so far.Â
The Cadets were strong on the floor, as Mathew Davis (third/14.000), Nauman (fifth/13.850) and Erik Del Cid (sixth/13.700) posted competitive scores.
The Cadets will now have a week away from team competition, with Mathew Davis heading to Las Vegas to compete as an individual at the Winter Cup. The meet will serve as a qualification for team USA. The Black Knights will return to team action on Feb. 29 when they host Air Force at Gross Center.Â
