Trio Garner CEP Athlete of the Month Accolades for December

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Sophomore Eric Butte of Army West Point hockey and juniors Josh Zock and Kim Caccamo of swimming and diving were named the Corps Squad Scholar-Athletes of the Month for December.

- He has played in every game this season and contributed immensely to the team's 11-5 start.Â
- Army Hockey currently has one of the best records in the country, largely because of the late game heroics of Butte.Â
- During the Black Knights' 3-0 run over Thanksgiving week, Butte had four points on two game winning goals and a pair of assists.Â
- He currently has a total of four goals and four assists on the season, scoring one against Union in the home opener and one goal against Holy Cross in a November matchup.
- Butte is a Systems and Decision Sciences major who naturally excels in that field.
- He has maintained a military grade-point average around 3.0 for his entire cadet career

HIGHLIGHTS
- Zock is a management major who has consistently maintained a 3.0 GPA in his major courses, effectively balancing his academic requirements with training.
- In the spring of 2019, Zock won the 50 free at the Patriot League Championships with a time of 19.82.
- At the Army-Navy Star Meet in December, he won in the 50 Free and set an Academy record.
- The third-year swimmer then went on the following day to punch his ticket to Omaha, Neb., this summer for the U.S. Olympic time trials.
KIM CACCAMO

Major: Philosophy

HIGHLIGHTS
- Caccamo consistently carries a 4.0 GPA as a Philosophy major with honors.
- She additionally heads up the swim and dive team Academic Mentor and Tutor program.
- She manages nightly study hall sessions for plebes to help them balance college academics and competitive swimming for the first time.
- Caccamo is a distance swimmer who obtained a personal Record of 10:15.57 in the 1000-yard free in December after placing third at the Army-Navy Star Meet.
- Within the Corps of Cadets, she had a solid performance as a Platoon Sergeant by showing potential for greater responsibility within her company and the Corps of Cadets in the future.
