Black Knights Fall to Niagara in Overtime

NIAGARA, N.Y. – The Army West Point hockey team forced overtime against Niagara, but the Purple Eagles netted the game-winner with 44 seconds remaining in the extra time.
Mason Krueger scored both goals for the Black Knights.

- The Purple Eagles were ahead 1-0 after the first period in tonight's game.
- Niagara went on the power play 15:23 into the game and scored 16 seconds into the man advantage.
- The officials spent some time reviewing the score for a potential offsides, but the goal stood.
- Army earned a power play opportunity at the 14:15 mark of the second stanza and took advantage to knot the score 1-1.
- Colin Bilek fired a shot from the left dot deflecting it off Brett Abdelnour to set up Mason Krueger for the goal.
- The Purple Eagles rallied back in the third period scoring an unassisted goal with 10:23 remaining in the game.
- The lead didn't last long however as Krueger netted his second on the night after a pass up the boards from Thomas Farrell. Zimmerman was also in on the action that re-tied the game at 2-2.
- Niagara tallied the game winning goal with 44 seconds remaining in overtime to take the game 3-2

- Krueger recorded his first multi-goal game this season and the third in his career.
- The junior now has five goals this season and 14 points.

- His first goal of the night came on the power play to mark the fifth in his career.
- Bilek notched his 10th assist of the year and 15th point. He totals 20-career helpers and 32-career points.
- Abdelnour contributed an assist on the night for his second of the year and sixth point.
- Farrell had his sixth helper of 2019-20 and seventh point.
- Zimmerman was also in the assist column.
