Two Black Knights Take Home Weekly Awards

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - With several Black Knights jumping to the top of the Patriot League charts, two members of the women's track and field team have received the league's top weekly honors as Calli McMullen and Emily Mikoud have been named Patriot League Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week.
McMullen added another Army West Point record with her 24.46 time in the 200 meter dash. The time was the best in the league this season and was one of five race wins for the senior captain on the weekend. In addition to her 200 meter win, McMullen swept all three stages of the 60 meter dash and recorded the fastest leg of Army's 4x400 meter relay victory.
Mikoud was also undefeated on the weekend, claiming victories in the weight throw and shot put. Her shot put throw was the league's best this season and her weight throw placed her second in the Patriot League. The honor is the second for the 2019 Patriot League Rookie of the Year this season.
In addition, sophomore Justin Young and senior Jacob Stauffer of the men's track and field team received honorable mention for their performances at VMI. Young posted the league's second best time in his victory in the 60 meter hurdles finals while Stauffer topped the league charts in his weight throw victory.
The Black Knights will head to Boston next for the Coast to Coast Battle of Beantown this weekend.
