Army Faces Big Test at Michigan

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Black Knights hit the road for the first time in 2019 as they travel to Ann Arbor to take on nationally-ranked Michigan at 12 p.m. at Michigan Stadium.
Army is coming off a 14-7 win over Rice in its season opener at home under the lights at Michie Stadium last Friday night.
The contest will air live on FOX with Gus Johnson, Joel Klatt and Jenny Taft on the call. The game can also be heard on the Army Sports Network through the TuneIn app or goarmywestpoint.com.

THE OPENING KICKOFF
• The Black Knights extended their winning streak to 10 games, which is second behind Clemson for the longest active winning streak in the nation.
• The streak is the longest for Army in over 13 years as the Black Knights won 11 straight between 1995 and 1996.
• Army also increased its home win streak to 14 games, which is the second longest in Michie Stadium history behind a 39-game streak from 1925-31.
• The streak started on the final game of the home schedule in 2016.
• Since the start of the 2017 season, the Cadets have won 22 of their last 27 games for a .814 winning percentage and are 22-3 over the last three seasons when kicking off prior to 7 p.m. Eastern.
• With last Friday's win over Rice, the Black Knights are now 32-6 when leading or tied heading into the fourth quarter under head coach Jeff Monken.
• Army is facing a ranked opponent for the first time since last year's overtime thriller at No. 5 Oklahoma.
• Kelvin Hopkins Jr. was corralled for most of the night against the Owls with 80 yards rushing and 53 yards passing, but accounted for both Black Knights' touchdowns.
• Army's defense was impressive and held its third straight opponent to 14 or less points and shut out the Owls in the second half.
• Army will play 13 regular-season games for the first time since 2003 and for only the second time in school history.
ARMY-MICHIGAN HISTORY
• This will be the 10th meeting between Army and Michigan and first since 1962.
• Army holds a 5-4 advantage in the series leading into Saturday's matchup, but the Wolverines have one the last four matchups.
• The Black Knights are one of three teams to have a winning record against Michigan with a minimum five games played, joining Cornell and USC.
• Michigan leads the all-time series at home with a 4-2 mark and all of the games away from Michigan were played at Yankee Stadium.
• This is will be the sixth meeting between the two schools when the Wolverines have been ranked in the top 10.
ABOUT THE WOLVERINES
• Michigan comes into Saturday's game after a 40-21 win over Middle Tennessee State last week.
• The Wolverines racked up 453 total yards in the win and scored 24 unanswered points in the first and second quarter to be able to cruise to the victory at Michigan Stadium.
• They had a balanced offense with 233 yards on the ground and 220 through the air and were successful in the red zone with four scores on five trips.
• The defense held the Blue Raiders to 67 yards rushing and 301 total yards and allowed only seven points in the second half.
• Quarterback Shea Patterson threw for 203 yards on 17-of-29 passing and three touchdowns in the win.
• Patterson was a finalist for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award in 2018 and a semifinalist for the Davey O'Brien Award.
• Nine different receivers caught passes in the win and three of them scored touchdowns.
• Rookie Zach Charbonnet was U-M's leading rusher with 90 yards on eight carries in his first career start.
