Army Returns to Michie to Face Morgan State

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Black Knights return to Michie Stadium to face the Morgan State Bears on Saturday at noon.
Army is coming off a 31-13 win at UTSAÂ at the Alamodome last Saturday afternoon.
The contest will air live on CBS Sports Network with Ben Holden, Ross Tucker and Tina Cervasio on the call. The game can also be heard on the Army Sports Network through the TuneIn app or goarmywestpoint.com.

• Army's defense held UTSA to 260 yards of offense and just 51 yards on the ground. The Black Knights have held their opponents to an average of 281.0 yards through the first three games.Â
• The defensive unit ranks tied for fifth nationally in fumble recoveries (5), tied for 20th in takeaways (6), 22nd in passing defense (167.7), tied for 23rd in sacks (9), 24th in scoring (14.7) and 28th in total defense (281.0).Â
• Senior Elijah Riley recorded a strip sack against the Roadrunners, marking his second career forced fumble in as many games. He also finished with two tackles for loss (matching his career-high at Michigan the previous week).Â
• On top of his two forced fumbles (T-4th nationally), Riley is tied for 17th in the country in sacks (3) and tied for 21st in tackles for loss (5).
• Senior linebacker Cole Christiansen is tied for fourth nationally in forced fumbles (2), tied for 23rd in tackles (28) and tied for 25th in solo stops (17).Â
• In the UTSA win, Army finished the game with 358 yards of offense, including a season-high 340 rushing yards. The Black Knights are 18th nationally in rushing yardage (257.0).Â
• Senior running back Kell Walker tallied two rushing touchdowns of 26 and 16 yards against the Roadrunners, finishing with 80 yards on five carries (16.0 average). It was his third career multi-TD game and his first since 2017.
• In his first career start, sophomore quarterback Jabari Laws finished with 137 rushing yards on 23 carries and a 41-yard touchdown. On the first play of the game from scrimmage, he recorded a 34-yard rush.Â
ARMY-MORGAN STATE HISTORY
• This will be the third ever meeting between Army and Morgan State, with West Point leading the series, 2-0.Â
• Morgan State is the lone MEAC conference team that West Point has ever faced.Â
• Army's previous two defeats of Morgan State came at Michie Stadium, a 60-3 win on Nov. 19, 2016 and a 28-12 victory on Aug. 30, 2013.
• This will be the 115th time West Point will be facing off with a team from the state of Maryland. Navy and Morgan State are the only two Maryland teams that Army has ever faced.Â
