CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Samantha Stewart of the Army West Point women's lacrosse team collected Patriot League Midfielder of the Week honors for the second consecutive week.
The junior midfielder was a key contributor in the Black Knights' 16-14 league win over Lafayette on Saturday, helping the Cadets extend their winning streak to three games. Against the Leopards, Stewart tied her career-high with six points after tallying three goals and a trio of assists. She added three ground balls and a pair of draw controls to her stat line.
Stewart recorded her sixth hat trick of the season and moved up in the program's all-time ranks. The New Canaan, Conn., native climbed to third in all-time assists and second in ground balls.
Stewart and the Black Knights will look to stay hot when they trek to Annapolis, Md., on Saturday for a service-academy rivalry matchup with No. 14 Navy slated for 1 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
