COACH'S CORNER
- Interim head coach Bob Beretta – "It was a very disappointing day for us. Overall, we pitched and played well enough to win both games. But against good teams there is a very small margin between winning and losing. BU just made a few more plays than we did in critical situations. We put a good amount of traffic on the bases in the first game, but we just couldn't push across more than one run. We had chances to build on our 1-0 lead, but we didn't capitalize on our opportunities with runners in scoring position. We had eight hits and managed just one run. It's tough to beat a team like Boston when you leave nine runners on base. Jolie was very sharp on the mound and was in control before giving up the home run in the sixth.
- "It was another hard-fought battle in the second game. Once again, we had some chances to generate runs but could only scratch out the one in the fourth. Renee pitched very well for us in the second game. Like Jolie in the first, she did an excellent job of containing a very good offensive team. I was extremely proud of our pitchers today. They certainly performed well enough to win both games.
- "You have to give BU credit. They took advantage of the few scoring opportunities they had in both games and managed just enough offense to win. We will regroup tonight and come back strong again tomorrow. We expect another tight battle between two very good clubs."
