WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army West Point men's tennis team continued its stellar play of late, capturing a 7-0 sweep of Marist, Tuesday at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center.
After clinching the doubles point, Army (10-12, 4-0 PL) continued its strong play heading into singles. Diego Huttepain and Myles Conlin cruised to straight set wins at No. 3 and No. 1.
Freshman Nikita Larichev provided the clincher at No. 4, with a 7-5, 6-0 win over John Oxner.
ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES
- This is the fourth straight shutout for Army.
- The Black Knight move to 16-5 all-time against Marist.
- Army picked up its 15th doubles point of the season.
- David Mitchell and David Gorshein picked up their team leading 12th doubles win of the year.
- Junior Anant Mundra picked up his ninth singles win of the spring season.
- Freshman Diego Huttepain is on a three match win streak, and is now 8-9 in singles play.
