Black Knights Extend Win Streak to Six

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army West Point men's tennis team remain undefeated in Patriot League play, after a 4-1 victory over Boston U. Friday at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center.
"We knew this was going to be a tough match," said Head Coach, Jim Poling. "They're very competitive, so this was a good test -- combined with how we do on Sunday against Lehigh -- heading into Navy."
Doubles play saw three hard fought matches, with Army (11-12, 5-0) getting the early 1-0 lead after a clinch at No. 2. Singles opened up with a straight sets win by freshman David Gorshein, who cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 win to give the Black Knights a 2-0 lead.
After Boston (7-13, 2-2) took No. 3, Myles Conlin put Army one win away from clinch with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1.
Junior Anant Mundra provided the fourth point with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 6.
ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES
- The Black Knights are now 9-2 all time against Boston.
- Army picked up its 16th doubles point of the season.
- David Mitchell and David Gorshein clinched the doubles point for Army, their team-leading 13th win together this spring.
- Junior Myles Conlin picked up his eighth singles win from the No. 1 position this season.
- Anant Mundra moved to 10-5 in singles play with his clinching win at No. 6.
