LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Behind a five-goal outing from sophomore Jackie Brattan, the Army West Point women's lacrosse team picked up its fourth-straight win and bested Siena, 12-8, in a non-league road affair on Wednesday afternoon.
The Black Knights (4-0) continue to add to their best start in program history after grabbing the win over the Saints (0-2). Brattan needed just seven shots to net her five scores and post a career day on the field. The second-year attack added a pair of ground balls and three draw controls to her stat line.
Five other Cadets got involved in the scoring action, including Samantha Stewart and Caroline Raymond, who each notched a pair of scores. Beth Hofmann, Manuela Cortes and Megan Raftery also posted a tally in the scoring column.

- Army improved to 2-0 all-time versus Siena.
- Brattan tallied her fourth hat trick in as many games.
- She now has six in her career.
- Stewart added an assist, two ground balls, two caused turnovers and four draw controls.
- Lauren Bredenburg and Raymond each tallied four ground balls.
- Bredenburg also had a game-high three caused turnovers.
- Maddie Burns notched eight saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After allowing a goal in the opening two minutes of play, the Black Knights responded with five unanswered goals from Stewart and Brattan over a 17-minute stretch. It wasn't until the 10:19 mark that the Saints got back on the board with their second score of the afternoon.
- However, the Cadets countered with a 3-0 run to extend the lead to six, 8-2. Siena tacked on one final score in the opening half, but the Black Knights carried an 8-3 advantage entering the break.
- The two sides each put in four goals apiece over the first 10 minutes of the second half, but Army and Siena got quiet as neither team found the back of the net for a 17-minute span. The Saints broke the scoreless drought and tallied a goal with 2:57 left to play to pull within four, 12-8.
- It proved to be too late though as the Saints only got one more shot off and it was saved by Burns, ultimately securing the 12-8 road win for the Black Knights.
