February 18, 2019 | Women's Lacrosse
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – After facilitating the Army West Point women's lacrosse high-powered offense to two wins this past week, Caroline Raymond was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week.
It marks the second consecutive week that Raymond received the weekly league honors. The first-year midfielder has played a pivotal role in Army's early season success on the offensive end, helping the Black Knights get off to their best start in program history.
In an 18-9 win over Marist on Wednesday, she tied the program record for assists in a game with five. It was the most assists recorded in an outing by a cadet since Erin Jollota notched five opposite the Red Foxes on Feb. 11, 2017. Raymond also added a pair of ground balls in the game.
On Saturday, she once again shined and posted a goal and two assists in a record-setting 22-5 victory against Hartford at Michie Stadium. The 22 goals were the most scored in a game by the Cadets in program history. With her two helpers, the Mahopac, N.Y., native tied Mikayla Bergin for seventh in all-time assists. Raymond also came away with two draw controls versus the Hawks.
Raymond and the Black Knights will return to action on Wednesday when they head to Loudonville, N.Y., for a 3 p.m. road tilt against Siena.
