Black Knights Fall to Manhattan

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Army women's basketball team fell to Manhattan, 86-56, Friday evening at Draddy Gymnasium.
Lindsey Scamman finished with a game-high 17 points and 14 rebounds to record her third career double-double. The Black Knights had two other members reach double-digit scoring, as Hope Brown finished with 12 and Alisa Fallon finished with 10.
Manhattan shot 47.4 percent from the field, connecting on 37-of-78. The Jaspers had 11 different members of the team score points with three reaching double-digit scoring. Leading the way was Lynette Taitt with 14 points, while Emily LaPointe and Sydney Watkins each registered 12.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Army jumped to an early 14-10 lead around the four-and-a-half-minute mark in the first quarter, but the Jaspers responded with a 19-0 run that extended into the second quarter.
- Manhattan shot 56.8 percent in the first half, while the Black Knights shot at a 38.5 percent clip. The difference came on points off turnovers, as 19 of the Jaspers first half points came after the Black Knights turned the ball over.
- At the midway point, Manhattan held a 47-24 lead.
- The Cadets opened the second half with an impressive 12-0 run to cut the Jaspers lead to 47-36, but that would be the closest they would come.
- Army shot 36.4 percent from the field, while Manhattan shot 39.0 percent in the second half.
