Christiansen Named a Lott IMPACT Trophy Quarterfinalist

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point senior linebacker and two-year captain Cole Christiansen has been named a quarterfinalist for the Lott IMPACT Trophy, it was announced on Wednesday. The list consists of 20 players.
The award, now in its 16th season, recognizes the player who makes the biggest IMPACT on his team both on and off the field. IMPACT stands for Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.
The winner will be announced at a black-tie gala on Dec. 15 at the Pacific Club in Newport Beach. Joel Klatt of FOX will be the emcee.
The Foundation will donate $25,000 to the general scholarship fund of the winners' university and $5,000 to each of three runner-up schools.
Voting for the quarterfinalists was done by members of the Board of Directors, former coaches and players as well as journalists.
Christiansen has made 31 career starts, all consecutive. In 37 career games, he has 212 total tackles (121 solo), 18 TFLs, two sacks, an interception and three PBUs. The senior is 13th nationally in forced fumbles (2), 16th in solo tackles (31) and 24th in total stops (49).
The Suffolk, Va., native recorded 12 tackles (7 solo) at No. 7 Michigan while also forcing a fumble.
The following week at UTSA, he recorded his second career sack and forced a fumble. Christiansen added another double-digit tackle game against Tulane, making 10 stops (8 solo), marking his sixth career double figure tackle game.
