Women's Rugby Remains Undefeated

HANOVER, N.H. - The Army West Point women's rugby team continued its stellar start to the fall Saturday, as the Black Knights took down the defending NIRA Division I National Champion Dartmouth Big Green, 39-19.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Captain Bayleigh Gable put Army on the board first in the eighth minute with her second try of the season.
- Dartmouth would take the lead in the 20th minute with a try and conversion.
- Freshman Julia Riekena put the Black Knights back ahead (10-7) with a try right before halftime.
- The Big Green opened the second half with a quick to go up 14-10 after the conversion.
- Minutes later, Kailen Young crossed the try line for her second try of the season to put Army back ahead.
- Senior Sam Sullivan scored her team leading fifth try in the 55th minute to extend the Black Knights lead to 22-14.
- Damaria Morton, McKenzie Borchers, and Charisma Henry would all add tries before the final whistle.
ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES
- Army moves to 2-3 all-time against Dartmouth in varsity 15s play.
- The 4-0 record to begin the fall is the best start since 2015 (3-0).
- Seven different cadets dotted a try against Dartmouth.
- The Black Knights are the only remaining undefeated team in the top tier of NIRA.
