- Army and Boston U. both struggled to get into a rhythm offensively at the start of the contest as the two sides committed several turnovers and could not find the bottom of the basket. With 9:45 on the clock in the opening half, the Terriers held a one-point edge, 12-11, but back-to-back treys by John Emezie and Tucker Blackwell gave the Cadets their first lead of the night.
- The Black Knights could not gain much separation from the Terriers as Boston U. found its stroke and made five of its next seven shots, including a pair of 3-pointers to pull within three, 27-24, with less than four minutes to go in the frame.
- Army took a 33-28 lead into the second half and the advantage grew to as large as nine, 37-28, following two quick layups by Wilson in the opening minute. However, the Terriers came clawing back and a 9-2 Boston U. run with 13:47 remaining, evened the score up at 47 apiece.
- The score remained close as the two teams traded baskets, but the Black Knights went on a 14-6 run that was capped by two consecutive 3-pointers by Fox to put Army ahead 64-57 with 8:22 left to play.
- It once again turned into a back-and-forth battle down the stretch and the Terriers stayed well within striking distance. However, despite the Terriers' ability to knock down shots late, the Cadets were able to counter and eventually ice the game at the charity stripe to secure the league win.
