ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES
- Funk's seven assists moved him past J.P. Spatola for seventh in single-season history with 139.
- He has tallied five or more assists in four-straight games and 17 outings this season.
- Blackwell's 10 points tied a season high.
- Matt Wilson had a team-best 11 rebounds.
- It was the seventh time this season the junior center recorded double-digit boards.
- Thirty-four of Army's points came from off the bench.
- Army turned the ball 10 or fewer times for the eighth time this season.
- The Black Knights tallied 14 assists on 19 made shots.
- Nine different Cadets recorded at least one point.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Army and Colgate got off to two completely different starts to the game. Behind a 15-point effort in the opening 10 minutes from Will Rayman, the Raiders got out to a 19-8 advantage. Rayman began his night 6-of-7 from the field with a pair of treys, while Army connected on just two of its first 13 shot attempts.
- Outside of Funk, who finished the half with eight points, the Army starters could not find the bottom of the basket. To negate the shooting woes, the Black Knights turned to their bench for production and the non-starters delivered. The Army bench accounted for 18 of the team's 29 first-half points, led by Caldwell's nine on 4-of-4 shooting.
- With multiple Cadets getting involved offensively, the Black Knights were able to climb back into the game. Following an and-1 layup by Funk with 1:05 to go, Army was within one, 30-29. However, five unanswered Colgate points in the closing minute pushed the deficit to six, 35-29, heading into the break.
- The Raiders broke the game open in the second half with a 20-9 run while continuing to shoot around the 60-percent mark from the field. With Colgate's stingy defense and efficient scoring offense in the final stanza, Army was unable to bring the game back within single digits and ultimately fell, 76-56.
