HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST SET (Army 25, Lafayette 23)
- The Black Knights were dominant in the set regardless of the tight score as they hit .387 over the Leopards' .171.
- Sydney Morriss boasted four kills while hitting .800.
- Courtney Horace (.426) and Emmy Barnhorst (.400) aided in the offensive efforts with three kills apiece.
SECOND SET (Army 25, Lafayette 22)
- Army carried its momentum from set one to set two.
- The Cadets and Leopards saw seven tie scores and five lead changes throughout.
- Barnhorst had a standout performance with five kills on five attempts with no errors.
- Nikki Lum fueled the effort with seven assists.
THIRD SET (Army 25, Lafayette 17)
- The third set was all about Army.
- Cate Buckingham pulled away with seven kills in the set, while Barnorst, Morriss and Monica Eckford added three each.
- Lum pulled away with 11 helpers this set.
ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES
- Barnhorst tallied 12.5 points on the day with 11 kills and a .667 hitting percentage.
- The hitting percentage was a career-high for the rookie.
- Morriss totaled 10 kills and one block assist.
- Buckingham and Horace finished with seven kills.
- Lum recorded 25 assists and Hannah Presley tallied 16.
- Ana Oglivie had a match-best 12 digs.
