Black Knights Set for NCAA Wrestling Championships

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Lucas Weiland, Ben Harvey and Rocco Caywood of the Army West Point wrestling team are headed to Cleveland ready to compete in the NCAA Championships this weekend.
The three-day tournament runs from Thursday to Saturday at the Quicken Loans Arena. All six sessions will have each mat televised on ESPN for the fourth-consecutive year with the second round, semifinals and finals in prime-time slots. Tim Johnson and Anthony Robles will be covering the event for ESPN, along with Jim Gibbons and Billy Baldwin as a guest analyst.

ARMY (3-6, 2-3 EIWA)
• Last time out, the Black Knights took eighth at the EIWA Championships with six podium finishes.
• Weiland leads the team with 22 wins on the year and is one of four Army wrestlers with double-digit bonus point wins.
• The sophomore 157-pounder owns 10 bonus point victories on two falls, three technical falls and five major decisions.
• Harvey leads the squad with five wins over ranked opponents during the 2017-18 campaign, including top-10 opponents Ethan Ramos of North Carolina (7th) and Jadaen Bernstein of Navy (8th).
ARMY AT THE NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
• This will be the first time that all of Army's competitors will be making their NCAA debuts since the 2012-13 championships when Connor Hanafee (141 lbs.) Daniel Young (149 lbs.), Paul Hancock (165 lbs.) and Bryce Barnes (197 lbs.) did so.
• Harvey is the fourth cadet-athlete to compete at 174 pounds in the last five years, joining his brother, Brian Harvey, who qualified in 2013-14, '14-15 and '15-16.
• The Black Knights have earned 19 All-America honors in program history, most recently Matt Kyler in 2008 when he placed sixth at 141 pounds.
• Army's lone three-time All-American was Phillip Simpson from 2003-05.
• The program's best team finish came at both the 1965 and '66 championships when the Black Knights finished 10th.
