Black Knights Head to Boston for Saturday Tilt

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's basketball team will look to continue its winning ways when the Black Knights head up to Boston on Saturday afternoon for a Patriot League showdown with Boston U. slated for 2 p.m. at Case Arena.

• In Army's most-recent outing against Colgate this past Wednesday, the Cadets drained a season-best nine 3-pointers. It was the most makes from long range in a game since the Black Knights connected on 13 against Mercy on Dec. 17.
• Army has rattled off three straight Patriot League wins for the first time this season after defeating Holy Cross, Lehigh and Colgate. The Black Knights have now won four of their last five outings. Prior to this run, Army was sitting in seventh in the Patriot League standings and has now catapulted itself into a lock for the top five and a bye in the first round of the league tournament.

• Nia Irving has had a stellar sophomore campaign, leading the Terriers in scoring (13.5 ppg) and rebounding (6.9 rpg). For the season, she is connecting on a league-best 50 percent of her shots from the field and is ninth in the league in points per game. She is on a six-game double-digit scoring streak that includes a trio of 20-point games and two double-doubles.
• Katie Nelson has also had a large impact in her rookie season. Her 9.5 points per contest ranks second on the team and she has dished out 3.5 assists per game in 26 starts. Her assists per game ranks fourth in the Patriot League. She has the ability to score inside and from deep, shooting over 35 percent from both.
