Army Falls on the Road at Lehigh

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army West Point men's basketball team dropped a 84-53 decision at Lehigh here Saturday night.
The Black Knights struggled all night shooting the ball. They posted season-lows in the game with a 29.3 field goal percentage and a 17.6 percent mark from long range. The Cadets also converted on just three of their 10 attempts at the free throw line.
The 53 points scored was a season-low as well, while the 84 points given up were the third-most this year.
Jordan Fox, Matt Wilson and Tommy Funk all managed to earn double digits in the game with 12, 10 and 10 points, respectively. Wilson pulled down a team-high eight rebounds, while Funk dished out three assists.
Army held the 14-6 edge with just under 14 minutes to play in the opening half. Unfortunately, the home team sparked a 34-7 run over a 12-minute span to break the game open at 40-21.
The Mountain Hawks then took a 40-25 lead into halftime. Army tried to rally early in the second half but Lehigh had an answer every time.
The Mountain Hawks have now won six-straight contests and sit with a 9-7 record in Patriot League play. Army dips to 6-10 in the league and 13-14 overall.
ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES
- Army finished 22-of-75 from the floor and 6-of-34 from behind-the-arc.
- Lehigh went 27-of-57 (47.4 percent) and 13-of-29 (44.8 percent), respectively. The home team also added 17-of-23 (73.9 percent) makes from the free throw line.
- Morrison chipped in eight points for the Cadets after going 3-of-12 on the night.
- Fox added five rebounds and two assists.
- Funk's three helpers in the game pulled him to within eight of Ron Wilson's single-season record. He currently has 151 to his name this year.
- He is also one shy of matching his final total from a season ago.
- The Black Knights reached the 2,000-point mark on the season, marking the 14th time in program history a team has done so.
- The Cadets were outrebounded by their host 52-41, but the Black Knights held the edge on the offensive glass, 15-8
- Jacob Kessler recorded a team-high two steals.
- Army posted 26 points from inside the paint compared to 22 for Lehigh.
- The Mountain Hawks led the Black Knights in points off turnovers (16-11), in second-chance points (8-7) and in fast-break points (9-4).
- There were three lead changes and one tie score.
- Army held its largest advantage at 14-6 with 13:58 remaining in the opening period following a made 3-pointer by Funk.
- The Black Knights were in front for 7:05, while Lehigh led for 31:07. The game was tied for 1:48.

- The Black Knights prepare for their final road contest of the regular season when they travel to Colgate on Wednesday.
- The teams will meet in a 7 p.m. contest. The game will be streamed live on the Patriot League Network.
- The Raiders are on the road against Loyola on Sunday at 2 p.m. before welcoming Army to Cotterell Court.
