Cadets Travel to Annapolis for Star Meet

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Following a close matchup with Air Force, the Army West Point gymnastics team will head to Annapolis, Md., to take on the Midshipmen in the annual Star Meet presented by USAA. The competition will begin at 2 p.m. Â

- Army fell to Air Force last week by 0.600 points in an extremely close matchup at West Point.
- The Black Knights improved on the still rings and parallel bars as a team with season-high marks.
- The Cadets captured scores of 64.550 on the rings, while turning out a 65.200 on the p-bars.
- Ryan Wilson championed the high bar last weekend tying his season-high 14.100.
- Nathan Goff and Nick McAfee tied for second on the parallel bars with a 13.800.
- The scores now rank fourth in the program's top performance lists since the scoring change in 2017.

- The hosting academy has won the past six star meets. Army topped Navy last year by a score of 405.850-402.800 and the Mids took it home the year prior 419.300-413.750.

- The Midshipmen are sixth nationally on the floor exercise with a 67.650 average.
- They are also seventh on the vault (69.800) and high bar (65.933).
- Andy Jones was named the ECAC Specialist of the Week last week after posting a 14.150 on floor exercise.
- He also turned out a 14.250 vault in the meet.
- Ryan McVay earned the nod of ECAC Rookie of the Week with a first-place point total of 77.800.
