Black Knights Earn Win at Wagner

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - The Army West Point women's basketball team made it three wins in its last four games with a 61-46 victory on Saturday afternoon at Wagner.
Hovren had another impressive outing with 32 points and 14 rebounds to lead Army to its fourth win of the season. She was 10-of-17 from the floor and sunk 11 free throws. Jessica Rawls had her best game as a Black Knights with eight points and a career high 10 boards.
The Seahawks had three players in double figures. Jordan Hobson led the way with 15 points and five rebounds. Nakylia Carter and Taylah Simmons added 11 points apiece in the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST QUARTER
- Army struggled out of the gate, which allowed Wagner to jump out to a 19-9 advantage with 3:23 on the clock.
- The Black Knights crawled back into the game with an 8-2 run, including six points from Hovren and it was 21-17 Seahawks at the end of one.
SECOND QUARTER
- Wagner held onto the lead through most of the second quarter until Army finished the frame on an 8-0 advantage thanks to a pair of 3-pointers from Morgann Yancey and Hovren.
- Thanks to Hovren's shot from distance at the buzzer, Army had a 29-27 lead at the half.
THIRD QUARTER
- Army's built up a seven-point lead with 4:13 left in the third quarter. Yancey hit another shot from distance and then Jess Lewis found the bottom of the basket with 4:13 left to put Army onto 37-30.
- The teams traded buckets in the final four minutes and Army had a 41-35 advantage going into the final quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER
- The Black Knights put the game out of reach with a 17-0 run during a span of over five minutes and came away with the 61-46.
- Hovren had eight points during the run and finished with 32 points.

- The Black Knights are back at Christl Arena on Tuesday night to face Yale for a 7 p.m. start.
