Brinson Picks Up Academic All-America Praise

AUSTIN, Texas – Senior linebacker Kenneth Brinson was voted onto the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America® Division I Football First Team on Monday.
Brinson was selected by the Sports Information Directors from around the country as a First Team Academic All-America® honoree and picks up his second consecutive nod after being named to the team in 2017.
Earlier this year he was named First-Team Academic All-District® for the second-straight season as well. Brinson was also recognized all season for his academic success as he is a finalist for both the Campbell Trophy and the Pop Warner National College Football Award. He is a chemical engineering major with a 3.9 grade point average at West Point.
The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I Football Team features 17 members with a 4.0 GPA and 34 members with at least a 3.90 GPA as either undergraduate or graduate student-athletes. The 26 members on the first team have an average GPA of 3.95.

Brinson and the Black Knights are heading to Texas next week for the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl, which will air live on ESPN at 2:30 pm CT at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas.
