WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point softball program announced the addition of assistant coach Brittany Robinson to its staff for the 2019 season.
Robinson comes to West Point after spending the last two years at UNC Wilmington. During that time, she helped the Seahawks to a 55-49-1 record, including a program-record 35 wins in 2017. The 2017 squad made the program's first Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship tournament appearance since 2007 and earned its first-ever postseason berth with an at-large bid to the inaugural National Invitational Softball Championship.
Prior to UNC Wilmington, Robinson was the head coach at SUNY New Paltz from 2014-16. She posted a 47-59 record in three seasons as the Hawks' coach, including two appearances in the SUNYAC tournament. Additionally, she had four student-athletes earn all-conference honors during her tenure.
Robinson has also served as a player/coach with the Wil Devils Softball Club and Lucerne Eagles Softball Club in the Semi-Pro National Softball League "A" in Switzerland from 2013-17.
After graduating from the University of North Carolina in 2011, she became the head coach of the Northern Vance High School Vikings in Henderson, N.C., from 2012-13. Robinson was a four-year letterwinner for the Tar Heels who tallied 14 home runs and 19 doubles in 179 career games. During her time at UNC, she aided the team to a combined 173-66-1 record and three NCAA Regional appearances. In her freshman season, the Tar Heels posted a program-best 50-12-1 record and hosted their first-ever regional.
A native of Deep Run, N.C., Robinson currently resides in Gardiner, N.Y.
