WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point hockey team dropped a 4-2 decision Friday night to Air Force.

The game was tied 2-2 late in the third, but the Falcons netted back-to-back goals for the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Air Force took the first lead of the game with Matt Pulver scoring on a rebound from Matt Koch. Koch shot the puck from the left point and Kozlowski made the stop, but the puck came out the other side and Pulver made it 1-0.
- Army evened the game up on the power play with 12 minutes to go in the second period with Dominic Franco putting the puck in the net off his leg from a shot on the point from Evancho.
- Air Force regained the lead at 2-1 with 1:56 left in the second frame on a power play goal from Zack Miraegas with assists from Alex Mehnert and Kieran Durgan.
- The Black Knights tied the game with 8:42 left in the third when Brendan Soucie came down the right side on a 2-on-1 and put a shot on net that Christopoulos pushed aside, but Fidler cleaned it up to make it a 2-2 game.
- The Falcons closed out the scoring with two goals in the final three minutes. Brady Tomlak netted the gamewinner and then Trevor Stone added the empty netter to give Air Force the 4-2 victory.
ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES
- Franco netted his second power play goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1.
- It was the junior's 23rd career goal and 56th point.
- Evancho notched the helper on the goal to mark his third of the season and 20th in an Army sweater.
- He is now riding a four-game point streak.
- Fidler recorded his first power play goal since the 2016-17 season.
- The senior now boasts seven in his four years.
- Soucie's assist was his second of the season.
- Kozlowski totaled 25 saves on the night.Â
- The junior class now has 26 points this season and 230 in their careers at Army.
