MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The Army West Point hockey team skated to a 2-2 overtime draw at Robert Morris on Friday night.

Thanks to a pair of goals by the senior class, the Black Knights jumped ahead to a 2-1 lead in the second stanza. Robert Morris scored on a five-minute power play to even the score and force overtime.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Robert Morris jumped ahead 1-0 six minutes into the game.
- Justin Addamo scored on a wraparound attempt after Trevin Kozlowski made the initial save.
- Two minutes later Trevor Fidler evened the score after Alex Wilkinson and Eric Butte worked the puck up the boards to the senior.
- Fidler streaked ahead to the slot and scored top shelf versus Francis Marotte.
- With five minutes remaining in the first, Tipper Higgins netted a shorthanded goal setup by John Zimmerman and Taylor Maruya.
- The Black Knights were charged with a five minute major penalty at the end of the second period.
- Robert Morris took advantage and knotted the score just 1:11 into the final frame on the man-advantage.
- The teams battled back-and-forth in the third to force overtime.
- Robert Morris and Army traded opportunities in the extra time, but neither team were able to convert.
- The Black Knights' closest chance was when Higgins ricocheted one off Marotte's facemask.
ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES
- Seniors Fidler and Higgins netted their first goals of the season.
- Fidler scored the 21st goal of his career and 44th point of his career.
- It was the senior's first score opposite the Colonials. Â
- Higgins tally was the first special teams goal of his four-year career.
- He now has eight-career goals and 14 points. Higgins also boasts two goals against Robert Morris.
- Wilkinson extended his season point streak to four with his assist tonight.
- It was his third helper of the season and 31st in his career.
- Butte posted the first goal in an Army sweater.
- Zimmerman's assist was his 13th, while Maruya's was his 19th.
- Zimmerman leads the current Black Knights' roster with four-career assists against the Colonials.
- Kozlowski made 22 saves and is now riding a two-game unbeaten streak.
- The shorthanded goal was Army's first since February 10 of 2018 at Canisius.
- It was the first tie game between the Cadets and Robert Morris since 2015. Â
- The current roster now accounts for 403 points in their careers at Army.
