Black Knights Fall in High-Scoring Battle vs. UConn

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Despite scoring the first goal of the game, the Army West Point hockey team fell to UConn, 5-2 on Friday night.
The Huskies answered the early goal with four in a row to take the lead. Army tallied its last goal five minutes into the third period, but it wasn't enough to overcome UConn's lead.

- Alex Wilkinson the scoring started with his tally 27 seconds into a power play.
- Michael Wilson worked the puck up top to Dalton MacAfee at the right circle before the senior captain drifted to the slot setting Wilkinson up for the one-timer.
- The Huskies scored less than a minute later to tie the game at 1-1. UConn went on to net four goals in a row to put the game out of reach for Army.
- The Cadets rallied back with a goal four minutes into the third frame, also on the power play.
- It was Wilkinson's second score of the night, with assists coming from Zach Evancho and MacAfee.
- UConn netted the final goal of the game with 11:34 remaining.

- Wilkinson recorded both of the Cadets' goals on the night.
- The pair of scores were each on the power play.
- Wilkinson now has six-career power play goals.
- It was the junior's second multi-goal game in his career and ninth multi-point game.
- MacAfee posted assists on both goals tonight.
- It marked the senior captain's fifth-career multi-assist game.
- Evancho contributed his second assist of the season on tonight's second goal, while Wilson notched his first point of the year on the helper for goal one.
- Jared Dempsey had 16 saves in the first two periods of play.
- Goaltender Trevin Kozlowski made his collegiate debut in the third period, turning away 10 shots.
- The Black Knights and Huskies are now tied in the all-time series at 30-30-8.
