Army Set for Meeting with Defending League Champs

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Fresh off a Patriot League road victory over Loyola earlier in the week, the Army West Point women's basketball team returns to action on Friday to square off against the defending league champs, Bucknell, at Sojka Pavilion at 6 p.m.

GAMEDAY STORYLINES
• The Black Knights are in search of their second consecutive Patriot League road win. The last time Army won back-to-back road league games was against Lehigh (2/27/16) and Boston U. (3/2/16).
• Army has not won in Lewisburg, Pa., since Feb. 15, 2015.
• Bucknell is playing its first game at Sojka Pavilion since Nov. 29.
• Senior Aliyah Murray is 10 points shy of recording 500 for her career.

ARMY (8-5, 1-1 PATRIOT LEAGUE)
• Murray and Madison Hovren have combined for 68 points through the first two Patriot League games this season.
• They are a combined 26-for-52 (50%) from the field. In the Black Knights' most recent victory over Loyola,
Murray poured in a career-best 23 points, while Hovren added 18 points and 13 boards.
• Army has lead at halftime in seven games this season. The Black Knights have yet to drop a game this season when leading at the half.
• The Black Knights' starters have been responsible for 72 percent of the team's scoring this season.
BUCKNELL (7-6, 1-1 PATRIOT LEAGUE)
• December was a rough month for the defending Patriot League champs, picking up just one win in four outings, while dropping games to Fordham, Pittsburgh and American. The Bison bounced back and opened the New Year with a 63-58 victory over Boston U. on Jan. 2.
• There has been a huge drop off in offensive production for the Bison after Claire DeBoer and Sune Swart graduated this past May. As the top scoring team in the 2016-17 season, the Bison have fallen to eighth, at 60.2 points per game in 2017-18.
• Junior Kyi English has paced the squad with 12.5 points per contest, while Kaitlyn Slagus (11.9 ppg) and Kate Walker (10.6) have also been heavily involved in the offense.
• Bucknell has been plagued by turnovers this season and ranks last in the Patriot League in turnover margin (-5.38) and ninth in assist/turnover ratio (0.7).
