Army West Point Athletics
Carolyn Bockrath: Breaking Barriers
September 14, 2017 | Volleyball
This year the Army West Point Athletic Association has rebranded Feature Friday into a video and written feature series called On Point. The new design to the stories will help fans connect to the cadet-athletes better than ever before.
Â
On Point highlights the tremendous personal stories our coaches and cadet-athletes have to share on a weekly basis. Each week throughout the year, a new feature story will be prominently highlighted on GoArmyWestPoint.com. The features will include visual pieces, as well as written stories by media outlets and the Army West Point athletic communications staff.
Cadets at the U.S. Military Academy are granted with unbelievable opportunities to grow as leaders outside of the classroom. Many times, the 47 months go by and all of these opportunities aren't taken advantage of fully. But for senior middle blocker Carolyn Bockrath of the Army West Point volleyball team, she knew that she needed to get everything out of the summer leading into her final year even if it meant no free time. So while passing up rare summer leave, Bockrath hit up Capitol Hill for a once-in-a-lifetime experience she wouldn't trade for anything.
