Army Slated Second in PL Preseason Poll

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – After losing just one senior last season, the Army West Point volleyball team has been slated second in the Patriot League's Preseason Poll, while senior Carolyn Bockrath was voted to the Preseason All-League Team.
"The team is very excited for the 2017 season," said head coach Alma Kovaci Lee. "The senior class is experienced and ready to start their last season. We have great leadership and maturity this year. Everyone is excited to start this journey."

American was picked first in the poll receiving 16 first-place votes and totaling 128 points. The Black Knights followed with a first-place vote of their own and 112 points, while Colgate (98), Navy (87) and Lehigh (75) rounded out the top five. Bucknell (57), Loyola (35), Holy Cross (33) and Lafayette (23) closed-out the poll.

Army was one of four schools with representation on the All-League Team with Bockrath making an appearance for the second straight year. Last year, the Newport, Calif., native led the league and team for the second year in hitting percentage (.355). Â
