Army Departs for USA Rugby 7s Championships

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's rugby team is headed out to Denver for the USA Rugby 7s Championships this weekend.

Saturday's matches will be in the pool play to determine which teams will compete for the bowl, plate, shield and cup championships on Sunday.

Pool B: Central Washington, Life, Michigan and Texas A&M
Pool C: Army West Point, Davenport, Penn State and Princeton

ARMY (18-4)
• The Black Knights have competed in five 7s tournaments this spring, capturing titles at West Chester and Bowdoin. They also finished as the runner-up at AIC, Brown and the NIRA Championships.
• Second-year Zye Crittington leads the squad with 149 points and 29 tries.
• Rebecca Stipp and Sam Sullivan have each contributed 122 points on the season. Stipp scored 18 tries and 16 conversions, while Sullivan is second on the team in tries with 24 and booted one conversion.
• Rookie Bayleigh Gable is the only other Cadet to score more than 100 points this spring, documenting 112 in just seven games.
• Gable's 16 points per game is the highest on the team.
