Sienko and Mitchell Named to All-Academic Team

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's tennis team placed two cadet-athletes on the Patriot League All-Academic Team on Wednesday.
Junior David Mitchell earned a spot on the All-Academic team for the first time in his career. He was also named to the first team when the postseason awards came out. Mitchell is a International Relations major with a Terrorism Studies minor at West Point. Over his two years he has accumulated a 3.564 grade point average.
Michael Sienko was also named to the team and like Mitchell, it was his first academic honor of this career. Sienko is a Management major with an Applied Sciences minor. As a junior he sports a 3.546 grade point average.
To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
The selection process was conducted by the League's men's lacrosse sports information directors, who could not vote for their own student-athletes.
