Black Knights in Second Heading Into Final Day

DAY 3 RESULTS
LEWSIBURG, Pa. - Jay Yang led the Army West Point men's swimming and diving team on Friday night by setting a new academy record as the Black Knights finished day three of the Patriot League Championships at Bucknell.
Army concluded day three of competition in second place with 508 points while Navy has a slim lead with 542 points, heading into the final day. Boston University is in a distant third with 337 points.

THIRD DAY HIGHLIGHTS
- The finals portion of the day started off with a bang as Yang broke the academy record in the 400 individual medley and took home the title in the event, clocking in at 3:49.51.
- Jason Rodriguez swam a great race in the 100 fly and took second with a time of 48.03 seconds.
- Sean Regan, Matt McPheters and Brandon McCredie finished sixth, seventh and eighth, respectively, in the same event. Regan clocked in at 48.70 seconds, while McPheters came in at 48.80 and McCredie followed at 49.37.
- Joseph Daniels finished fourth in the 100 breast with a time of 54.54 seconds, which was just off his academy record.
- Evin Rude came up just shy of his academy record in the 200 free and swam to a second-place finish, clocking in at 1:36.90. He was followed by Sean Martin in fourth at 1:38.70 and Devin McCall in the eighth spot with a time of 1:41.12.
- Rude ended up third in the 100 backstroke with a time of 48.57 seconds, while Matt McPheters took sixth at 49.17 seconds and Josh Sembrano clocking in at 49.39 seconds for seventh.
- The Black Knights concluded the night with a third-place finish in the 200 free relay. The foursome of Rude, Brandon McCredie, Nathan Hein and Devin McCall clocked in at 1:20.22, just missing the academy record of 1:20.09.
UP NEXT
- The championships are back on tomorrow with the prelims in multiple events beginning at 10 a.m., while the finals will take place at 6 p.m.
