ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES

- Army sealed the game with a third period power play goal by Conor Andrle.
- Zach Evancho netted the Black Knights' first goal of the game. It was the freshman's 11th of the year and first since Jan. 6, 2016, when the team tied Bentley 5-5 (OT).
- Tyler Pham notched Army's second goal at the 15:46 mark of the second stanza. It was his fifth of the year and third in two games.
- Andrle assisted on the pair of goals before scoring his own on the power play in the third period to push him to 23 points on the season to lead the team.
- It is the second straight game that Andrle recorded a goal and two helpers.
- The power play goal was Army's 21st of the year and it was the second consecutive game that the Cadets scored on the extra man opportunity.
- Parker Gahagen recorded 32 saves in the game and is on track to break the all-time Army saves record tomorrow night with just four in tomorrow's game, which will be the senior's 100th career start.
- Tonight's victory was Gahagen's 15th of the year, a career-high for a single season for the senior.
- Army extended its winning streak over Holy Cross to six and its unbeaten streak to nine.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Halfway through the first, Dalton MacAfee fired a shot off from the circle, but a glove save by Paul Berrafato kept the score knotted at 0-0.
- Evancho put the Black Knights ahead 1-0 when he carried the puck up from behind the net and fired it past the netminder to the lower left corner.
- Andrle and Dalton MacAfee were credited with the assists on the goal.
- Holy Cross tested Army's penalty killing unit towards the end of the first period and got a quality shot off, but Gahagen picked up the save to maintain the Black Knights' 1-0 advantage.
- Ten minutes into the second frame, the Black Knights fought off a 5-on-3 advantage by the Crusaders and were helped by a good stick by Nick DeCenzo with 10 seconds left in the first offense.
- With five minutes remaining, T.J. Moore of the Crusaders came streaking up the ice, but Gahagen flashed his glove once again to deny the puck from passing the goal line.
- On the next sequence, Andrle stole the puck in Holy Cross' zone and passed it off to Pham who had a beautiful bar down goal to give Army a 2-0 lead.
- The Crusaders closed out the second period with a goal after a questionable missed penalty to bring the game back within one.
- Four minutes into the final frame, Brendan McGuire had a near goal on a wraparound attempt, but Berrafato kicked the puck away just in time.
- Andrle scored with 10:51 on the clock to give the Cadets a 3-1 lead. He was assisted by his linemates Pham and Evancho.
- The Black Knights fought off a late penalty to maintain their 3-1 victory. The Crusaders pulled Berrafato to make it 6-on-4, but Army did not allow them to get back into the game.
